Our Principles

The Founding Fathers limited government to protecting our rights to life, liberty and property. Smaller government means more choices for the people of Uintah County. We believe that you make the best decisions about your economic and family life.

As long as a person does not violate the rights of others, he or she should be left free and unrestrained. Governments exist for the sole purpose of defending the freedoms of their citizens. Libertarians will provide the leadership to restrain government to its Constitutional boundaries.
 

Political Platform

County Platform: At the GRASS ROOTS LEVEL of local government:
-the Commissioners, in conjuction with Sheriffs, could follow the will of the PEOPLE by creating a website to organize counties nationwide.
-counties could collect a flat rate % income tax replacing Social Security numbers with Zip Code IDs, eliminating Federal identifications, data base redundancies, the IRS and giving Congress the bare constitutional needs as determined by a budget allocation sheet filled out by the taxpayers on the back of their withholding statement. States would then collect the tax from the counties (Satisfying Article I Section 8-U.S. Constitution and in agreement with the TEA PARTY.
-Planning for Federal insolvency and turning Depaartment of Education and Social Security responsibitlies over to individual states where they may be handled more effectively at the local level.
-Following our Constitution by getting us out of the UN! "Treason against the United States....or in adhering to their ENEMIES, GIVING THEM AID and COMFORT. (examples: ObamaCare, National Debt to China and Foreign Aid to enemies) Article III Section 3 -evaluating the county's current condition by performing a financial analysis. -scrutinizing all taxes for need and reductionFor Homeowners: Home prices artificially soared and then plummeted based on the government's intervention in the housing market. Libertarians would stabilize home prices by removing these bad federal and state policies and rigorously pursuing fraud.
Additionally, Libertarians would eliminate the property tax to allow Texans true property ownership. Property taxes unfairly penalize the poor and seniors on fixed incomes.

For Small Business: Small business owners - not Wall Street - are the real engine of our economy. Libertarians advocate low taxes, less regulation, and less market intervention to encourage job growth at its source: the small business.
We won't play favorites with your tax dollars for corporate welfare or economic development slush funds.

For Gun Owners: Libertarians respect the Second Amendment, while other political parties constantly compromise this basic American principle.

We seek to restore the great American free enterprise system that made us the strongest, most powerful economy in the world: lower taxes, free markets, free trade, less regulation, and less red tape for businesses big and small.
